Storeroom Coordinator, Per Diem

Department: MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
Location: Oswego, NY

Storeroom Coordinator- Oswego Hospital

The storeroom Coordinator will act as a liaison to all departments on all shipping and receiving matters and perform functions related, but not limited to; administrative support, customer service, inventory management, shipping/receiving, maintenance of Materials Management equipment, maintenance of receipt records of all capital equipment, implants, mesh and grafts, and reconciliation of contracted and invoiced pricing.

  • Delivers all supplies and equipment to the departments in an efficient, safe, and timely manner.
  • Consistently checks supplies upon receipt to ensure equipment and supplies are not damaged.
  • Properly logs and notifies departments of any backorders and notify Procurement Coordinator.
  • Accurately records and maintains implant and tissue logs.
  • Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner.
  • Restocks utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation, and proper location of stocked items.
  • Adequately prepare all oversized shipments in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Assists and participate in the preparation of and participates in the annual physical inventory of stock.
  • Maintains all equipment utilized in transporting supplies in a manner that ensures reliable and safe operation.
  • Consistently considers the most cost-effective means of shipping products and equipment.
  • Makes a conscious effort to meet the needs of each department and nursing unit.
  • Arranges tasks and combines deliveries to departments in order to increase time efficiency.
  • Regularly demonstrates the ability to accommodate interruptions in schedules (deliveries, emergency requests, etc.) and to revise accordingly.
  • Requires minimal supervision in performance of duties
  • Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.
  • Displays concerns for increasing productivity and improving work habits by recommending changes to Immediate Supervisor, being mindful and supportive of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately to the Materials Management Director and co-workers.
  • Checks all shipping and receiving documents for accuracy before receiving or shipping packing slips.
  • Prepares items for return shipment in conjunction with the user department and established regulations.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred. Experience in healthcare setting, in inventory/logistics and related functions. Familiar with automated inventory systems. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Hazardous Material shipping Certification preferred. Familiar with group purchasing concepts.

Requires prolonged standing, manual dexterity, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, and stooping. Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment resulting from customer demands; ability to work prolonged periods of time inputting data into computer using repetitious hand movements. Ability to learn inventory control software and basic computer skills. Physical demands are in excess of those for light work: ability to lift up to 35 lbs; lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling moving objects weighing 21 to 60 lbs.

Pay Range: $15.75-$17.00/hr

Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
